Sally Snyder has served the Peoria community as a transformative board member and advocate for education and health care for more than 50 years. A founding board member of the museum, she served on the search committee that hired president and CEO John Morris. During her museum tenure, Snyder spearheaded a pioneering program that aspires to provide every student with an inspirational educational experience at the museum every year. Since 2017, the Every Student Initiative (ESI) has provided free curricula-related visits to all K-8 Peoria Public Schools students, adding on East Peoria and many other public and private schools over the years. Snyder’s mother, Sally Page, was a founding member of the board of the museum’s predecessor, Lakeview Museum of Arts and Sciences.
Among the many boards Snyder has served are Peoria Public Schools (board president), Hult Center for health Living (founding chair), Peoria Promise, Heartland Health Services and Advanced Medical Transport. She currently serves on the boards of WTVP and United Way of Central Illinois.
